Duncan Posted 31 January , 2006 Share Posted 31 January , 2006 Could some kind person do a 1901 census look up for Fred Clemo from Padstow, Cornwall, aged 21? Trying to find his complete family, address, occupation etc. Many thanks, Duncan
John_Hartley Posted 31 January , 2006 Share Posted 31 January , 2006 Duncan I don't mean this in any sarcastic way - but is there something that prevents you from coughing up the £3.50 like I would have to? John

Guest bulgasari Posted 31 January , 2006 Share Posted 31 January , 2006 Go to ancestry.com and do a search. When you click on 'view record' to see the info for the individual, click on 'show family members' and you'll see this: Name Estimated Birth Year Birthplace Relationship Civil Parish County/Island Evelyn Clemo abt 1883 Padstow, Cornwall, England Daughter Padstow Cornwall Fred Clemo abt 1880 Padstow, Cornwall, England Son Padstow Cornwall Hannah Clemo abt 1850 Padstow, Cornwall, England Head Padstow Cornwall John Clemo abt 1888 Padstow, Cornwall, England Son Padstow Cornwall Joseph Clemo abt 1874 Padstow, Cornwall, England Son Padstow Cornwall Maggie Clemo abt 1889 Padstow, Cornwall, England Daughter Padstow Cornwall You have to pay to see any more than this, though. Jim Clay Posted 31 January , 2006 Share Posted 31 January , 2006 Duncan Agree with Paul - though it might be Darnells or Varnells Alley. John - a few of us have Ancestry subscriptions, so it costs us nowt (well, a little time) to do a lookup. Jim
John_Hartley Posted 31 January , 2006 Share Posted 31 January , 2006 Thanks Jim. Fair do's. I'd forgotten about Ancestry (having let my subs. lapse). Do you know if you can still just do a 3 month sub, rather an annual? John
Jim Clay Posted 31 January , 2006 Share Posted 31 January , 2006 Do you know if you can still just do a 3 month sub, rather an annual? I'm pretty sure you can. I think you can do a limited 7-dayer as well. Jim
John_Hartley Posted 31 January , 2006 Share Posted 31 January , 2006 Thanks, Jim. 3 months should do nicely.
BottsGreys Posted 1 February , 2006 Share Posted 1 February , 2006 1891 Census, the family was living Work House Hill, Padstow. The father was still living then and was: Joseph Clemo, age 41 Labourer & Grocer Born: Bodooring? Hannah 40, is listed as Anna in this census. Son Joseph was a letter carrier at age 17. Fred 10, Evelyn 7, and Richard 5, were students. John 3, Margaret 2, and Thomas (6 months) were too young. Regards, Chris

Duncan Posted 1 February , 2006 Author Share Posted 1 February , 2006 Duncan I don't mean this in any sarcastic way - but is there something that prevents you from coughing up the £3.50 like I would have to? John Minimum cost for 1901 Census is £5, and as I'm being made redundant in a months time thought it best to take care of what little cash I have! BottsGreys Posted 2 February , 2006 Share Posted 2 February , 2006 Ewan: I tried doing it for you through my Ancestry.com but could find nobody living in Scotland in the 1901 Census, which leaves me to wonder if Scotland not enumerated in the Census that year? Stephen Nulty Posted 2 February , 2006 Share Posted 2 February , 2006 I think you'll find that the Scotland census is not included in the Ancestry subscription. To the best of my knowledge, the only way to get it online is via scotlandspeople.gov.uk
