Jim Kane Posted 4 September , 2003 Share Posted 4 September , 2003 The Archives at the Black Watch Museum show a notation against my Grandfather's enrollment details stating 'Political', the Archivist said this would have been added after enrollment and sometime during his service from 1915, older members of the family who remember him say he was not politicaly active in civvy life, he died in 1936. Can anyone throw any light on why such an entry would have been made, any info or suggestions would be appreciated. thanks, Jim.
Malcolm Posted 4 September , 2003 Share Posted 4 September , 2003 I would guess he was a member of a Trade Union? Was he from Perth? They had a big strike in 1913 when the Unions ( mainly dye-workers) wanted a reasonable wage. Aye Malcolm
