Michael Lowrey Posted 23 January , 2006 Share Posted 23 January , 2006 Kevin, Brisk was a Royal Navy destroyer of the Acorn class. She was built by John Brown and launched in 1910. On October 2, 1917, Brisk hit a mine laid by the big German minelaying submarine U 79. The destroyer did not sink (31 dead). Less fortunate was the steamer, Lugano which went down in the same minefield on the same day.
