You will have to go to the National Archives [or pay a researcher to do this on your behalf] and search the microfilms there. There are very good guides on how to do this. However, only about 40% of records survived WW2 bombing and fire. What you can do first though and online is try and get his medal roll [search this web for relevant threads for how to do this] and look at The Long Trail associated to this web which will give you the start you need.
