TRENCH MORTAR BATTERIES

Recommended Posts

I am attempting to research my village war dead but need help and/or advice on where to go for information on certain formations. Can anybody steer me towards regimental museums or record keepers for the following units; 4th Trench Mortar Bn, RFA, MGC, Labour Corps and 28th Battalion CEF.

Many Thanks

Greg

For CEF bn. simply put up a post and the Canadians will be on your case post haste! Seriously the CAF study group have got a plethora of sites and info to draw on. The rest is dark water for me!

Thanks for the prompt replies lads. With your help and the added assistance of a few others, in the space of twelve hours I've now got the 28th's war diaries and a good deal of it's history. I even managed to get a photo of the lad I was after, more than I ever thought I would achieve. I'm still stuck on the other units though, especially orbats and war diaries but with the wealth of expertise on the Forum I'm remaining hopeful.

Very many thanks.

Greg
