Guest will505 Posted 17 January , 2006 Share Posted 17 January , 2006 My grandfather was wounded on 10/6/17 and taken to No. 2 Can CCS. He was in the RE and I think in the Messines area. Anyone have ideas as to which units of RE were there?

Anyone have ideas as to which units of RE were there? One of my Grandfathers was in the 126th Field Company RE. His battle honours are below for the dates, locations mentioned. (as near as I can get!) 21st Division Menin Road 20-25 Sep 1917 21st Division Messines 10-11 Apr 1918 Gunner Bailey
rob elliott Posted 18 January , 2006 Share Posted 18 January , 2006 Hi, both the 36th Ulster Division and 16th Irish Division were at Messines around this time and both would have had RE Companies in action. Any idea of service number and his name.Where did he come from. The Re's for these Divisions were not all Irishmen. Rob.
