bobpike Posted 17 January , 2006 Share Posted 17 January , 2006 There was a posting in a different section on the poetry of Captain H.G. Mansfield who was with the 6th Battalion The Essex Regiment. One of the poems is called AMERICA, which is very patriotic, all about the Americans joining the just fight, but after the title in brackets, it says (To my old friends of the 10th and 22nd U.S Infantry, Alaska, 1908) Although not strictly the Great War can anyone throw any further information on these American Infantry units and why Mansfield was with them?
