Stebie9173 Posted 16 January , 2006 Share Posted 16 January , 2006 If you look at this page of the Forum you will see the allocations of Territorial Artillery Numbers as at the change in numbering at the start of 1917. This tells us that he was in 280 Brigade (previously the 1/1 London Brigade RFA) early in 1917 and in the ranks. It does not help unfortunately with his unit after his commission. However, someone will be able to help, I'm sure. Have you downloaded the actual card. Does it give further information? Steve.
Bernard_Lewis Posted 16 January , 2006 Share Posted 16 January , 2006 If you look at the National Archives website you can do an officer search (after going to the military history bit) - look in WO339 and PIN 26 and if his officer file has survived it'll be listed. You can pay online to have this copied and it might contain useful info - but the content varies quite a bit from file to file! Bernard
