Graeme Fisher Posted 15 January , 2006 Share Posted 15 January , 2006 The 2nd Volinteer Battalion became, in 1908, the 6th Battalion Manchester Regiment. It was quite a common occurrence for units to hold bazaars and fetes to provide funds for the drill hall. Many weere built by public subscription and the generosity of officers of the unit, but money had to be borrowed to complete the building. The programme is a fascinating document that points out the inadequacy of the premises, and the need to enlarge it. Thanks for sharing it.
