Remembered Today:

Drill Hall 2nd VB Manchester Regt

It's quite uncommon to see the inside of drill halls, but this postcard shows how large these places were, with complicated roof structures to allow natural light in.

The gun limber and the other (medical?) carriage show the scale of the place, a huge space where men could march and drill, without columns to impede their progress.

Lovely picture

Thanks

Graeme

Referring to size, Graeme has information and pictures of the Norfolk Barracks, Sheffield, where the riding school - complete with horses - took place on the first storey and was reached by a ramp. The noise underneath must have been horrific.

Roy, what is the exact location, the address, of this lovely photo, please?
