Bob Bedward Posted 12 January , 2006 Share Posted 12 January , 2006 Pte Frederick Hawkins. 2nd Devons Signalling Company. I have found two newspaper reports of the death of the above above soldier. Report one is dated March 27 1915. The second, which includes a letter from his officer (Q M T Frost) is dated April 3rd 1915. I cannot find him on CWGC. Can anyone advise me please. Bob Bedward Posted 13 January , 2006 Author Share Posted 13 January , 2006 Oh My! Thank you both very much. How on earth could I have missed him. The letter to his Mother was very moving and it could have been that my eyes were clouded. You certainly have the correct man. I can now add him to the growing Roll of Duty and Honour. It is another lesson to me. Do not send off a question after spending a day looking at a film reader, sleep on it first. Thank you again Stebie9173 and linge.
