I am conducting research on my Scotish Great Uncle (Pte George C. Aird, 37896) and have his discharge paper, his certificate of employment from the war (Eygptian Expeditionary Force, 7th Meerut, 28 Brigade) and a map he traced his path of travel through Mesopotamia and Palestine. I am focusing my research on his time in Mesopotamia, but I am having difficulting tracking the units he served in (moved around with the development of the MGC?). From discussions with my Grandmother, he talked about being a member of the Black Watch (maybe 3rd Reserve reeinforcement to 2nd Battalion in route to Mesopotamia after France and then moved around later due to losses and MGC, time of service Nov 1915 - Jun 1919). I have been unable to track the details and specifically perplexed by the first regimental employment history on the certificate of employment (attached; 3/4 ????). Request assistance on making out the writing on the certificate and any other advice on helping track his steps. Thanks.
