Guest Mancunian54 Posted 10 January , 2006 Share Posted 10 January , 2006 I have downloaded a WW1 medal record: WO/372/21 Ref 29379 Private Charles Wilkinson Regimental no. 7060. There is a note on the card which I think says 'British War Medal returned RVB 136 31.1.56' (the print is not clear). Could you possibly tell me what this means? I have attached a copy if you need to check the original. CWilk_MedalIndexCard.doc
HarryBettsMCDCM Posted 11 January , 2006 Share Posted 11 January , 2006 It means that the BWM was returned to the Records Office & then on to the Mint for attention{in the 1950s}possibly it was mis~impressed ot the suspension was broken & required repair?
