Remembered Today:

Can anyone ID this helmets division marking???

I purchased this helmet from a guy in Belgium but cannot find the unit/division marking anywhere. It looks like an English helmet but I may be wrong. It is defintely WW1, i'm told.

It is a little obscured, the closeest I found was the South African emblem but does'nt really match.

Also, the brass rivets (see picture) I am also told are quite unusual.

Any info or other places I should try would be appreciated.

It looks a little like the tower from the 58th London Division. this was painted white, on the back of the helmet, and was suppose to represent the Tower of London.

Aren't the rivets of a Brodie designed to "Sheer" off, if there is any danger that the strap may strangle the wearer?

My first thoughts, too, I have to say.
