Hello All,

This is my first visit to this site and I have to admit it is very very interesting.

I am hoping that someone might just be able to help me.

I have a copy of my Grandfather's (Frank William GEORGE) birth and baptismal certificates. On the certificates it states that he was born in Hong Kong in 1912. His father (6110 Corp Walter GEORGE) was a Band Corporal 1 K.O.Y.L.I. The Chaplain's name was Rev. Foster Pegg C.F. and there is also mention made of W. Graham Capt. His mother's name is Gladys DAVY (funny enough it states spinster) and I have not been able to confirm a marriage as yet.

What was the regements itinerary in Hong Kong in 1912 and was it normal for the spouse to be there with the Regement. How can I find out more about my great grandfathers service in the Infantry.

Look forward to hearing from you

Hello Sha and welcome to the forum.

If you PM me your email address (use the facility marked "PM" at the bottom left hand of this post) I will forward on to you details from the regimental history for this period.

Andy
