Hello,

What would a BRCS Chauffeur, based in France, do ? Would they drive ambulances ? Did they have a uniform {As a Male Chauffeur} ? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

Stewart

Hello,

Thank you very much for that information. I was going through all the books that I have which have information on VAD etc, last night to see if I could find anything, but there was none.

Regards,

Stewart

What's more, they were awarded campaign medals. (Well, I didn't know that until recently).

Edmund Meredith died on 20-8-1917 of dysentery, shortly after arriving in Italy with the British Red Cross with whom he was a chauffeur. He is buried in Ravenna War Cemetery with a C.W.G.C. headstone. Here is his medal card. Michael
