bob lembke Posted 7 January , 2006 Share Posted 7 January , 2006 Just read an article in the New York Times about the "Father of LSD" now turning 100 in Switzerland, a Herr Hofmann, and he took the first doses of LSD with Juenger, described as a "novelist", which he was, but also the noted storm troop leader, essayist, and the last surviving Pour le Merite winner. The article is in the "Health" section. The web-site is www.nytimes.com. Juenger was quite an interesting, complex man. Bob Lembke
gericht 1914 Posted 7 January , 2006 Share Posted 7 January , 2006 Juenger was quite an interesting, complex man. Indeed he was. He was quite an experimenter with mind-altering substances in the 1920's and '30's and even wrote a couple of books based on his experiences - one of which was "The Psychonaut". More dangerously though, he also dabbled in politics at the same period. Another famous WW1 veteran who had also dabbled with such substances (and also in politics) was a certain herr Hitler in the very early 1900's. Dave.
