Tom Morgan Posted 4 January , 2006 Share Posted 4 January , 2006 Robert - your soldier was killed when his Battalion, the 1st Battalion, moved into trenches in the Verbrandenmolen sector, near Ypres in Belgium, which they did on 5th March, 1915. The battalion war diary records that it was impossible to show a periscope for more than a few seconds without getting a bullet through it, so German snipers must have been very active. Private Hutchins was the only soldier from his battalion to be killed that day. Tom
