Auimfo Posted 3 January , 2006 Share Posted 3 January , 2006 I beg your pardon for this Second World War reference but I would like to pay tribute to my wife's Grandfather VX134159 Sapper Stanley Williams, 2/1 Australian Forestry Company, who passed away on the 2nd January, 2006, aged 84. A quiet and gentle man who loved his family and country and whose like we may possibly never see again. The world is a poorer place with his passing. Rest peacefully Stan, you've done your bit. Andrew P Posted 4 January , 2006 Share Posted 4 January , 2006 Rest in Peace Stanley. Tim Sorry to hear about your loss. There is a display at the Army Museum of WA about the Australian Forestry Company that served in the United Kingdom during WW2 and came back via USA where they marched through New York City. Do you know if Stanley Williams was with this group? Regards Andrew
Auimfo Posted 4 January , 2006 Author Share Posted 4 January , 2006 Thanks for your thoughts everyone. My wife and her family were quite moved to know that others from around the globe would pause to think of a total stranger and pay him their respects. They all offer their deepest thanks in return.
