Remembered Today:

P. Dodson

Recommended Posts

Could someone check the SDGW CD Rom for the name 'P. Dodson'. The name is inscribed on my town memorial.

Only two P. Dodsons are coming up on the CWGC database. I'm looking for a Liverpool/Bootle/Litherland/Seaforth connection for the man. Also, if any other P. Dodsons come up could you check them for the same connection.

CWGC Database

Pte 3388 PERCIVAL DODSON

1st/5th Bn Duke of Wellington's (West Riding Regt.)

Died 18/11/1915

38462 Pte PERCY TREVOR DODSON

9th Bn Yorkshire Regiment

Died 10/10/1918

Any help would be appreciated.

Ronnie.

Ronnie - I can only find 2 P. Dodson entries on SDGW.

Percy Trevor was from Middlesborough.

Percival was from Huddersfield.

There are 51 Dodson names in SDGW. No other P. Dodson but the following 2 did have the connections you wanted:

18271 Pte Henry Dodson, 2nd Royal Scots Fusiliers. KiA 27/9/15. Born Lymm, Cheshire. Enlisted in Seaforth, Liverpool.

26088 John Dodson, 18th Liverpool Regt. KiA 26/8/18. Born/Enlisted/Resided in Liverpool.

Hope this helps.

Lee,

Many thanks for your quick reply to my query.

I'll check out the other two Dodsons with the Liverpool connections to see if there is a family connection.

Regards,

Ronnie.
