Remembered Today:

Special Reserve Peace Establishment

I have discovered that I do not have a Peace Establishment breakdown for an SR battalion c. 1914 before war declared.

I know that a peace SR battalion numbered over 500 and less than 600 INCLUDING regular officers and soldiers attached [a fair number of these]. I have no detailed figures, but I bet someone has.

Please, as a New Year offering to Captain Grumpy [now released from merely playing the Mobile Field Brothel piano, having been found Not Guilty of various charges which shall not be publicised for 50 years].

Langley,

Will send all as soon as time permits from Army Orders of 23rd December 1907 including the Appendixes entitled "Scheme for the provision, organization & training of the Special Reserve required to supplement the Regular Army, and the application of the scheme to the existing Militia". Do you have the opening pages of this scheme and just want the Appendixes?

Graham.
