I have noticed the following posting on ROOTSWEB mailing List for MANCHESTER-

Hello everyone :-)

>

> I just thought I would briefly join the list and see if I can help anyone

> out. I have my great grandfathers WW1 regiment history book.

>

> It’s titled: History of the 2/6th rifle battalion ‘THE KINGS’ Liverpool

> regiment. There are a few soldiers mentioned by name in it and some photos

> (of officers etc). If anyone wants me to look up a particular person just

> let me know and I’d be happy to send you what information I have. If anyone

> has an ancestor who was awarded a military medal etc there may be a good

> mention of him and the circumstances in this. There is a list of all the

> soldiers in this regiment at the back with service numbers also if anyone is

> not sure if an ancestor served in this battalion. There are really

> interesting descriptions of day to day life for the soldiers and of raids on

> enemy lines etc. Also if an ancestor was wounded in a certain

> battle/skirmish I would be happy to type out or copy that section of the

> book for someone. Hope I can be of a help for a change! :-)
