Guest Deb W Posted 30 December , 2005 Share Posted 30 December , 2005 Hello This is my first post on the board. I have a copy of the medal card of Eric Bryning - 44230 - of the Loyal North Lancashire Fusiliers. It shows he received the Victory Medal and the British Medal. I do not know which battalion he served with or where they served - but if any one out there knows any thing of the Loyal North Lancashires, and may be able to identify which battalion he was with from his regimental number - which I presume from his medal card is 44230, I would be really interested to know more about this. Thank you for reading my post. Regards Debbie
John_Hartley Posted 30 December , 2005 Share Posted 30 December , 2005 Hi Debbie. Welcome to the Forum. I'm afraid it isnt possible to pin down a battalion from just the service number. It looks like a number related to one of the regiment's "service battalions" (those formed for the duration of the war) - so 6th, 7th 8th, 9th or 10th. I'd have thought a late 1916 or 1917 enlistment (wild guess - Loyal North lancs are not my main area of interest) John
