Guest Posted 30 December , 2005 Share Posted 30 December , 2005 My Great Uncle, William H Jeffcott, was killed 90 years ago this month: Jeffcott, William Henry, b. Hockley, Birmingham, e. Birmingham 14564, Pte., k. in a., F. & F., 23/12/15. I have read Wyrall's "The History of the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry 1914 -1919" where the diary of the 7th Bn is referenced. Is anyone aware of the availability of scanned pages from the diary? Otherwise, can any readers suggest a process for facsimile copies of the December 1915 document? Thanks to all. olosangus Posted 30 December , 2005 Share Posted 30 December , 2005 The war diary for the 7th Bn DCLI is available at the Public records Office at Kew under reference wo 95 / 2126. At present it is not one of the war diaries that is available on line. So either a personal visit to the PRO or a researcher to obtain a copy for you. I think that the PRO will also provide a photocopy for a fee. See www.nationalarchives.gov.uk Simon
