roger Posted 28 December , 2005 Share Posted 28 December , 2005 This figure represents a soldier of 4th Bavarian Infantry regiment as he would have appeared in 1915. He is kitted out for duty in the trenches with extra ammunition carried in bandoliers around his neck, over trousers and a cover to keep the working parts of the rifle clean and dry. joseph Posted 28 December , 2005 Share Posted 28 December , 2005 Roger, Not being an expert, the soldier looks very accurate? did you make/paint it? nice piece of work. Regards Charles
roger Posted 28 December , 2005 Author Share Posted 28 December , 2005 Charles, the soldier is a resin kit which I assembled and then painted. As for accuracy the kit is based on this photo.
squirrel Posted 28 December , 2005 Share Posted 28 December , 2005 Roger, nice paint job. Do the manufacturers of the kit do one for a British Tommy in the same scale?
roger Posted 28 December , 2005 Author Share Posted 28 December , 2005 Thanks, here's the link for Jon Smith Modellbau. There are a couple of nice British subjects in 120mm. roger Posted 28 December , 2005 Author Share Posted 28 December , 2005 Thanks Charles, I'd paint them a lot quicker if I didn't spend so long on here Having said that I spend quite a bit of time researching the uniforms of the figures I paint. This forum is a brilliant research tool, I have folders of pics saved from postings on the forum of original uniforms. Roger.
