Martyn Gibson Posted 26 December , 2005 Share Posted 26 December , 2005 I have just seen the obituary in todays Daily Telegraph, to Harold Lawton who was the last surviving allied POW captured on the Western Front. Interesting character, and not one who I've seen in any of the 'Old Soldier' programmes. Or have I just not been paying attention?

Guest Simon Bull Posted 1 January , 2006 Share Posted 1 January , 2006 Given that he was a very literate chap who was published on numerous occasions in relation to his academic work, I wonder if he ever wrote anything about his Great War experiences?
