Guest mcgonigj Posted 24 December , 2005 Share Posted 24 December , 2005 My Great Grandfather John McGinnigle, Scots Guards, Rank Guardsman 2ND BN,was KIA 18 April 1916, Flanders. Born in Hamilton Lanarkshire and enlisted in Hamilton. Was married to Margaret McKay who eventually remarried an Owen Gartland. Grand father was about 12 at the time. John and Margaret had 3 girls and 2 boys, John (grandfather), James, Martha, Jenny, and Margaret. If anyone would have any info on my Great Grandfather's unit at that time or any other info such as battles etc. they were involved in prior to his death would be great.
