Guest milkinglady Posted 22 December , 2005 Share Posted 22 December , 2005 Hello eveyone... I hope someone out there can assist me. I have spent many years searching for information on my Granddad (whom I never met) and am slowly putting pieces together. I recently found/downloaded his medal card (he served with the Royal Fusiliers) from the National Archives but need more help in finding out what Unit he was in. Frederick Joseph Singleton landed in France on the 22 December 1915, aged about 19. Its possible that he went with a draft that would have gone to a unit already there, to replace losses. Once I have his Battalion(s) I am keen to find out more about his movements/war diaries etc. I live in New Zealand but hope to visit England next year so I can visit his grave and see the area where he lived. Name: Frederick Joseph Singleton Corps: Royal Fusiliers - Reg. No. 3654 Depot: R. Fusiliers - Reg. No. 47598 Rank: Pte Medals: ROLL PAGE Victory TP/104 1511 British " " Star (15) TP/75 C/2 39 Theatre of War first served in: (1) France Date of entry therein: 22nd December 1915 Is it possible for someone to check this for me when they are next at the archives? All details above have been copied from my download so should be accurate.... Regards and best wishes to you all for Xmas and 2006...
