Remembered Today:

Photographs of two members of the RFC

Hi

This is one of a number of photographs in my collection showing unidentified military personnel and I was wondering if anybody out there could help me out with specific or general information on them or their unit. I am pretty new to this so about as far as I can go is to read the RFC on their tunic! Maybe that is all there is?

Thanks

Tim

The chap on the left is wearing a wound stripe on the left sleeve. This was introduced in 1918. Nothing else but others may be able to add something.

Thanks Squirrel.

Do you know if they are flyers or could they be ground crew?

The two men in the photograph aren't wearing aircrew badges - either the double wings of a pilot or the single wing of an observer - so it's a safe bet that they are ground crew.

Thanks Gareth

Useful background info. I still have not been able to track down names for these men but if and when I do I will be in a better position to find more information.

Cheers

Tim
