Guest Evans of the Broke

9th, 10th April 1917

The CEF 2nd Division had the British 13th Brigade under its command, and it was they that pushed through to the outskirts of Vimy and the 2nd Division's final objective for the day.

Does anyone have the account?

And as i once remembered the CEF 1D was full of Brits. Anyone have their actions?

Thanks.

As luck would have it, their War Diaries for this episode are available here

This is also, of course, covered in Nicholson's History of the C.E.F., which can be downloaded for free here.

I am afraid there is a huge pile of stuff available about the Canadians at Vimy. :-)

Just want to point out the 2nd Bn KOSB (King's Own Scottish Borderers) took its objectives Bonval Wood and Goulot Wood. They were in the 13th Bgde attached to British 5th Division.

Battle of Vimy

I Corps : 24th Division

Canadian Corps : 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Canadian Divisions, 5th Division
