pbrydon Posted 20 December , 2005 Share Posted 20 December , 2005 I have a number of WW1 photos of the 6th liverpools ( liverpool Rifles ) In some lanyards are being worn and in others they arent. The lanyards are dark in colour certainly not white. In pictures of the 3/6 battalion they are being worn on the right shoulder. In other photos ( battalion not known) they are being worn on the left shoulder. When transfered to R.E. and later R.A. the battalion introduced a twisted cord lanyard of which I have an example ( 2 green cords to one of red ) to reflect their rifles origin. Hopefull others can add further information Peter Brydon
