barrieduncan Posted 20 December , 2005 Share Posted 20 December , 2005 Is there anything else on the back? A name, rank, regiment etc? Do you know what medal it is? Barrie

SPotter Posted 20 December , 2005 Share Posted 20 December , 2005 Have you been able to identify the medal? If not, can you describe it? Naming for 'circular' medals was on the rim, whereas the 1914 or 1914-15 Stars had details impressed on the reverse. However this would include name, rank, number and unit for Other Ranks, i.e. a lot more details than you have mentioned. Regards Steve
Spud Trevor Posted 20 December , 2005 Share Posted 20 December , 2005 Hello Rose, Without seeing the medal its difficult to say, but I think it may be the registration number of the design, i.e, the people who produced the medal registered it to protect it from been copied. You do see RD numbers on various types of items. Regards, Spud
