alfie Posted 20 December , 2005 Share Posted 20 December , 2005 Is there any reference online (or anywhere else) to the number of casualties suffered by each UK county. In a similar vein are numbers of recruits to each county recorded.
Drummy Posted 20 December , 2005 Share Posted 20 December , 2005 Not sure is my answer. Furthermore as a quick glance at SDGW reveals many soldiers were born in one county and resided in another, and then may have enlisted in yet another county etc etc. I presume you are going along the line of those who 'resided' in a county at the time of enlisting as the starting point? HERITAGE PLUS Posted 20 December , 2005 Share Posted 20 December , 2005 Perhaps not quite what your looking for however the County of Somerset created a County Roll of honour of the fallen (irrespective of regiment) giving rank, name and place of residence.
