BMoorhouse Posted 23 August , 2003 Share Posted 23 August , 2003 I have recently come across a reference by a British officer serving on the Western Front in 1915 to having met a "Turco". The officer appeared to have had some sort of conversation with the man who, from the context of the account, appeared to be a soldier that was allied to the British. There were some French troops nearby. Is a Turco some type of Colonial French soldier? Brendon Moorhouse.
