Even Better than that...............

There are no available Medal Index Cards to RAF Men[save for around 27000 that have ended up in with Army Ones & RFC ones] however the Record Sheets of RAF Men are available @ the NA & generally give Medal Issue & SWB Number details {If awarded}

The 1918 RAF Muster Lists are also available @ the PRO[NA]

:) Hello,

Thanks for the reply. You may have read some of my earlier posts. I am trying to find out who 2nd. Lieut. J Farquhar was. Things just seem to be going around in circles and I have no experience in researching WW1 RAF servicemen.

What is the easiest way of going about this and can you recommend a researcher ? I live in Perthshire, and have not been to the PRO for years.

Thanks once again,

Stewart

There is a Gentleman,{whose name escapes me @ present}who contributed to the Book "Researching British Military Medals" By Steve Symonds;who has a comprehensive database of WW1 Airmen/RAF/RFC/RNAS Types,He can be contacted{if the address is still current}@:~

The RFC;RNAS;RAF Register 1914~1919;

148 Parkinson Street;

Burnley;Lancashire;

BB11 3LL,

I have always found him to be most helpful & his charges {@ least in 2000} were reasonable
