RMLI in WWI

Hi folks,

I'm sure this has been asked many times before, so appologies in advance, but could anyone tell me where (or if) I could find the service history and medal entitlement of one of my RMLI ancestors who was killed in 1917? I'm aware that the records for the RMLI troops were kept completely separate to those of army soldiers, and that the MIC's are not(?) available online. The details I have may be found on the following post:

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

cheers

Steve

His service record will be available to view/copy at Kew. As he was a RND man then additional records will be held at the Fleet Air Arm archive at Yeovilton.

His service register will be at Kew in ADM 159 (you have his service number so only need to cross check that on the paper lists they have) and his medal entitlement will be on the medal roll in ADM 171. All Royal Marines were on the one roll, so no need for MICs.
