T8HANTS Posted 8 December , 2005 Share Posted 8 December , 2005 Hi I don't know if this will help, but it is taken from page 327 of the Atkinson history, it says "March 21st had found the battalion in brigade support North of the Fampoux-Arras road. Though on that day this area had been heavily shelled from 5am to 9am no attack had developed astride the scarpe, and late that evening the 1st Hampshire moved up into the front line of the second system of defences (East of Fampoux) Battalion headquaters being established in Colt trench".
