Captain of the Grimsby Chums - Charles Ferry

I have been trying to research this fellow for a very long time. You would think there would be a mention of him in one of the many histories of this famous Battalion but sadly there isnt. As a Capatin he would of commanded his own company of Chums and there arent werent many companies to a Battalion so thus only a hand full of Captains.

Using every standard resource available I have managed to gather all of the following information, Can anyone on forum add so much as snip bit more of info to what I have already listed here? I appear to of reached a dead end.

Many Thanks,

Steve.

Medal Index Card:

Linc R - Lieut

RASC - Captain

Theatre of war France - Date of Entry 10/01/16

London Gazette:

31 March 1917

Army Service Corps

Temp Capt C Ferry from Linc R to temp Captain 26th Jan 1917

However there is an entry for a Lt C. Ferry in 1940 as a Lt. with the RNVR, I dont think theres a connection there.

WW1 Army List Entries:

Temporary 2nd Lt - 9th Service Battalion - 13 November 1914

Temporary Lt 10 - Service Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment - 9 September 1914

(Note that the above contradicts each other - Strange?)

Temporay Captain 10 Service Battalion - 25th March 1915

Temporary of Acting Captain - 26th Januray 1917

Captain Ferry last appears in the Army List in August 1919 with the Army Service Corps.

1901 Census
