Max (UK) Posted 7 December , 2005 Author Share Posted 7 December , 2005 Thanks Jim. Wow - this has potential for me. I've just been researching my Great Grandad (grandad's dad) with much success (thanks to friends!) - found how he won his MM and got a squad photo (my avatar comes from it) and loads more. But there was always the question of what happened to my other Great Grandad - he was Alfred Bass of Blackburn. Some said he went to Canada shortly after my Grandma was born in 1912, but I wondered if perhaps he went to fight and didn't return. This is Albert Bass of Blackburn - there aren't many Albert Bass's on the 1901 census that aren't my family, so I'm wondering now..... I just need a date of birth or something. Doesn't the SDGW show anything like that? I'm sorry, I've never looked at it before. Thanks either way though, another door opens !
