richardprice Posted 4 December , 2005 Share Posted 4 December , 2005 My Grandfather Sgt HG Price with the RFA entered France at the end of July 1915, I believe that he was with the 24th brigade as this reference show this unit at Ballincolig in August 1914 where I know he got married in October 1914(http://www.warpath.orbat.com/artillery/rfa_btys.htm) - he ended up with D battery 44th Brigade in 1919. I have a photograph of him in uniform in Scotland with his new born son, wife and mother-in-law sometime mid to 3rd qtr 1916. His discharge papers mentions scars on the left hip and left arm. Could be have been sent back wounded? or on general leave? or for re-organisation of his unit? How often was leave granted? Any information or pointers will be much appreciated.
