Dolphin Posted 1 December , 2005 Share Posted 1 December , 2005 Cnock Thank you very much for the photographs. In Above Flanders Fields by Walter Pieters the crew of the Sopwith 1½ Strutter are identified as Sous-Lieutenant José Orta and Lieutenant Louis de Burlet, of the 3me Escadrille d'Observation. They were the first Belgian observation crew to be credited with a victory. Regards Gareth

Dolphin Posted 2 December , 2005 Share Posted 2 December , 2005 Cnock Again, thanks very much for the photographs. The SPAD looks like a XI two seater - one of the less remembered types of the War. If you haven't seen it, there's a collection of SPAD two seaters, including a Belgian machine, at http://www.internetmodeler.com/2005/novemb...eria/SPADx2.php. Dolphin Posted 7 December , 2005 Share Posted 7 December , 2005 Cnock Thanks again for another photograph. The DH 4 was the first type to go into Belgian service after the War; 68 DH 4s were supplied and they were numbered E1 to E68.
