Deptfordboy Posted 27 October , 2006 Share Posted 27 October , 2006 Hi Chris, I have a medal to a chap from the 11th Battalion, Royal West Kents who was severely wounded in the attack on Flers village on the Somme in 1916 and was repatriated to St Lukes, where he promptly died aged only 17 (he had enlisted at age 15). I'm not sure what the logic was behind shipping the poor kid to Halifax, does anyone have any ideas? Thanks Gilbert
