richardprice Posted 29 November , 2005 Share Posted 29 November , 2005 Can anybody tell which RFA Units were stationed at Maryhill Barracks Glasgow during the 1913-1914 period? I am trying to track down my Grandfathers movements prior to the war and believe he may have been at this barracks prior to being stationed in Ballincolig Cork in 1914. Fogarrach Posted 30 November , 2005 Share Posted 30 November , 2005 (iii) The following is a partial extract from an article in the Glasgow Herald dated 28 September 1909 page 11 col a ''Lt General Edward P Leach inspected the............ 40th Brigade Royal Field Artillery ............ 2nd Battalion King's Own Scottish Borderers......... 40th RFA 250 officers and men....'' I would be very interested to know if anyone could suggest a way of finding out the names of the troops who served in the 40th RFA or, for that matter, any other artillery regiment that was based at Maryhill at or around the time in question. (new to this, please forgive terminology errors)
