Hello,

Can anyone recommend a book dealing with the evolution and deployment of wireless and line equipment during WW1. I am not looking for great technical depth certainly not more than should ? be understandable to recollections of about HNC electronics in the early 50's now mostly forgotten!

I dont know of any modern publication on signalling and line equipment of the great war.

I would certainly like to see one as I have spent my entire career in communications and

have an interest in the topic. I have one very tatty book printed in the 20's on

military switchboards and telephones but its very much manual.

There is a web site that has some very good stuff on it regarding Divisional Signalers

but I don't have the details to hand, but I believe it was a site covering the 50th Division.

The book on the History of Telegraphy looks very interesting, especially as I was

originally trained as a telegraphist when I left school. The book's a bit pricey at £55.00
