Julian Whippy Posted 27 November , 2005 Author Share Posted 27 November , 2005 Super model - when was it made? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes they are cracking models, they are made by a friend of mine. He is a metal worker. Glad you like it, we thought it quite fitting to take it to the battlefields where the first pioneers of tanks smashed the Hindenburg line ! George Armstrong Custer Posted 27 November , 2005 Share Posted 27 November , 2005 Does your friend sell these models Julian? I for one would fancy having one of these little beauties on my desk! Ciao, GAC PS - great pic - & the model gives it an extra off-beat twist!

JW <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Julian, nice picture and great gesture, I like it very much !!! In reply of your quote though: "By September 1916, the British had 49 tanks ready to go into action. Only 32 actually made it to the start line on the British side, and only 9 made it across to the German lines and accomplished anything." = not so cracking real ones

Mike McCarthy Posted 28 November , 2005 Share Posted 28 November , 2005 Hi Julian, Sunday morning (hangover allowing) would have been right up your street. Michael Harrison gave a talk on tanks which included the scale model he made some years ago and is now on display at Bovington. For models he's your man! If you want his details email me off line.
