Clive Temple Posted 27 November , 2005 Share Posted 27 November , 2005 Can anyone tell me which regiment Private Edward Temple served in or point me where I can quickly find out? It's not on his MIC. Thanks.
Guest C729LEE Posted 30 November , 2005 Share Posted 30 November , 2005 Clive I missed this post - somehow. I have a bit of an interest in the Hull Pals battalions and I am sure that I have seen the name Temple mentioned in their paperback book by a chap called Bilton. I have it at home, and it is not to hand a the moment. I will post at a later in the week when I find out if it is Edward. There are nominal rolls for each unit, plus lists of casualties in date order. My interest is in a man named John George Flockton, from Welbeck St., Hull who transferred to the N.F. KIA 23/08/18. Also in a groupof Lincs Regt. lads who went to the East Yorks Regt. in particular 11875 Pte. Harold Hill of Skegness, KIA 04/05/17. I will get back to you. Guest C729LEE Posted 1 December , 2005 Share Posted 1 December , 2005 Clive Spent a nice warm afternoon in the comfort of my study, having coffee and crumpet while going through the Hull Pals book. The name Temple is in there, but not your man. I found three, and had a look through the MIC's to make sure he was not renumbered, with no success. His number looks like a late entrant and there is no prefix. The next step would be to get a Medal Roll for the BWM/VM, which, more often than not, will give a battalion number. There are many researchers who will oblige when they have a spare minute. Sorry. Lee

KONDOA Posted 30 April , 2006 Share Posted 30 April , 2006 Clive , Unless I have missed it , I cannot see his army number anywhere in this post. It may be the clue that is required. Roop
