Muerrisch Posted 23 November , 2005 Share Posted 23 November , 2005 Fascinating: they drop pistols on the poor old enemy's head? The things the press put across! Lovely picture, never seen anything like it.
Dolphin Posted 23 November , 2005 Share Posted 23 November , 2005 Caryl The weapons on the nearer overhead beam are Webley revolvers, those on the beam in the background are Very flare pistols. A clearer version of the photograph is in Dennis Winter's The First of the Few, and canvas bags for holding spent cartridges, from observer's Lewis guns, can be seen in the side cupboards. Regards Gareth <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks Gareth, very interesting Not a very clear pic. I find when I reduce the size of newspaper images I always get that grid like effect running through - if anyone wants a larger scanned pic (the orginal size) PM me and I'll send one via e-mail Caryl
