Distinguished Conduct Medal, London Gazette 22nd October 1917. Citation. London Gazette 26th January 1918. "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During operations he took he took command of his company for over six hours after reaching the enemy trenches, which he was one of the first to enter. Throughout this period he led his Company with great ability, and set a splendid example to his men."
