Guest Posted 28 April , 2006 Share Posted 28 April , 2006 Steve, Allard HG Lt Sgt H.G Allard serving with the Army Cyclist Corps was commissioned Temp 2/Lt (6/3/1916) to the 17th Batt RWF joining the Batt in France where he saw action. He was promoted Temp Lt (19/9/1917) and later relinquished his commission (22/1/1918) due to ill health contracted on active service, retaining the rank of Lt What can you tell me to broaden this basic knowledge that I have of my Grandfathers service history, where and what did the 17th Batt do in france, how do I find out where he was wounded, hospitalised, or indeed anything at all. Family info has it that he went to Kimnel Park House (not Camp) in N Wales to convalence. Any advice information would be very much appreciated.
