hello,

i am new to this forum and i hope that you can help i looking for info on this area as my great grandfather was killed there. his name was second lieutenant HAMLET JOHN CLARKE aged 27 DORSETSHIRE REGIMENT he was killed by british artillery.

i would also like to know if anyone else is interested in the dorsets.

1st Battalion Dorset Regiment.

kia 21/05/1918 aged 27yrs

Son of Hamlet John and Catherine Clarke and husband of Jessie Clarke of 188 St. Andrew's Road. Bridport.

Grave: Berles New Military Cemetery 1.C.11

How do you know he was killed by British Artillery?

hi,

i found the info on him in a book held at the keep in dorset in a book called 1st BN THE DORSETSHIRE REGIMENT, 1914-1919 on page 19
